DESCRIPTION
Camilla Kerslake was launched into the public consciousness in late 2009 by her unlikely mentor, Gary Barlow. She has a four octave range to her voice, and has been heard singing notes half an octave higher than the highest note ever written for the human voice. Although she has been compared to Katherine Jenkins in multiple publications, her voice is completely different. She should sooner be compared to Hayley Westenra and most accurately to Emma Shapplin. Her voice is light and pure but lacks power and control, though the latter two techniques are not necessary for her sound. So far, she has only her debut album, and the material is quite typical for a new crossover artist (there's the odd surprise on the album, such as the Italian version of Take That's 'Rule the World') but she has promised that her second album will offer something a little different which is expected to be released in October 2010.
