DESCRIPTION
Margaret Keys was a primary school teacher before she entered a reality talent show, became noticed, and got a four album deal with Universal. Although she's from Northern Ireland, her career is currently based in New Zealand where her debut album Legato was launched in early 2009. Keys has a distinctly different voice to other crossover sopranos. She's a little less accessible than most, and will be loved by fans of artists such as Lesley Garrett and Renée Fleming who only touch the surface of crossover music. Her voice is properly trained, packs much vibrato and has a wide range. She records standards, well loved tried-and-tested pop covers such as Sarah McLachlan's 'Angel' and Eric Clapton's 'Tears in Heaven' and a few classic show tunes. Ultimately, Keys is for the more settled crossover listener.
