DESCRIPTION
Lucia Micarelli is probably best known to concert goers, as she mainly reaches out to the crossover audience through tours. Her most notable tours are Josh Groban's Awake and Closer tours and Jethro Tull's 2006 tour. She has also opened up for Michael Ball. Micarelli has strong connections with Josh Groban and producer David Foster as they used to be on the same label, perform each other's material, and Groban acted as executive producer on Micarelli's debut album Music From a Farther Room. Because of this, Josh Groban fans are likely to take a great interest in her. Although comparisons with Vanessa-Mae are inevitable, Micarelli is actually a violinist with a lot more passion, diversity and elegance. She is not, however, as accessible as Vanessa-Mae, especially as her independent second album explored minimalist classical music rather than crossover. Micarelli can currently be seen in the new HBO American television series Treme.
