DESCRIPTION
David Garrett is a ridiculously handsome violinist who despite being active since childhood did not release any studio albums until 2007. He has released three and all include classical pieces, pop/rock songs and his own compositions. Although he is trying to bring the violin to a younger audience, he never goes as far as Vanessa-Mae as he keeps his arrangements clean without the drum machine and techno synthesizers. Rather, he takes on some unusual songs, such as 'Nothing Else Matters' by Metallica and Michael Jackson's 'Smooth Criminal'. Listeners that like their classical pieces need not fear as Garrett is enthusiastic about 'Canon', 'Flight of the Bumblebee' and 'Summer' as much as any other violinist. Garrett has also collaborated with other classical crossover artists such as Jonathan Ansell and Will Martin. Fans of Vanessa-Mae's more classical works will enjoy David Garrett, but Bond fans may feel that his arrangements are too straight-forward.
