DESCRIPTION

Camilla Kerslake was launched into the public consciousness in late 2009 by her unlikely mentor, Gary Barlow. She has a four octave range to her voice, and has been heard singing notes half an octave higher than the highest note ever written for the human voice. Although she has been compared to Katherine Jenkins in multiple publications, her voice is completely different. She should sooner be compared to Hayley Westenra and most accurately to Emma Shapplin. Her voice is light and pure and has improved immensely in her short time in the spot light. The material on her debut album is quite typical for a new crossover artist (there's the odd surprise on the album, such as the Italian version of Take That's 'Rule the World') but her second album has a more pop and daring sound; full of fresh material and more edgy arrangements.

Great concert last night in Yeovil, with Blake. Lovely to hear her live, and meet afterwards, go Camilla, your voice is unique!

I love Camilla's voice, she is one of my favourite CC singers at the moment. I was at a showcase at the St James Theatre last year and she sounds amazing live. Also it looks as though there will be a new album soon which I can't wait to hear. I can't recommend her albums enough, her second 'Moments' has some great original songs and shows that she can do something different to other classical singers.

Good news from Camilla. She has announced that she will be doing some shows and a tour later this year. Her Mum hasn't been too well over the past couple of years hence why she hasn't been doing a lot. Seems she is much better now which is great news.

Quoting Wonderlich:
Wow. This is the only performance of SOTR I have heard that is as good as Eva Cassidy's. Why is she not promoted in the states? I can only find a couple songs by her in iTunes

Unfortunately Wonderlich, for whatever reason, Camilla isn't being promoted anywhere it would seem. She has only done a handful of appearances here in the UK, mainly charity events, over the past 18 months which is good but at the same time sad. I believe album number 3 is in the pipeline but no release date has been announced. Her previous albums are brilliant, well worth getting hold of if you can. In my view her talent is being totally wasted. She is signed to Gary Barlow's label but he has been so busy this year I think Camilla has been low on his priority list. Such a shame that she isn't being promoted, here's hoping things change for the better.

Wow. Why have I not heard her before? Eva Cassidy is my favorite vocalist and Camilla's rendition of SOTR is the only one close to Eva's I've heard. She's a knock-out on top of that fabulous vocal talent. Don't get it. Just checked U.S. iTunes and I could only find 2 songs -

I too am looking forward to Camilla's third album. However I am somewhat disapointed that she hasn't done any public perfomances for nearly a year. Can't understand why her people aren't promoting her more :-|

Camilla Kerslake has a breathtaking high, pure voice. I really love her music and can't wait for her third album has I love her first two albums. She's a phenomenal talent.
