DESCRIPTION
Siobhan Owen
leans heavily towards celtic repertoire - more so than any other crossover artist, but the difference that comes with her pure voiced soprano is that she plays the harp, and uses it in her performances. The harp is fundamental to Owen, using it as a basis for her arrangements of well loved celtic and classical standards, which certainly gives Owen the quality of individuality. She released her first independent album Purely Celtic in 2008 and as the title suggests, it's an album dedicated to celtic material. Her second album, Celestial Echoes broadened her repertoire a bit, including crossover standards such as 'Pie Jesu' and 'Ave Maria'. Her latest album Lilium continues with the Celtic/crossover approach. Her stripped back production and loyalty to her harp and heritage gives her a sound no other crossover artist provides. Fans of early Charlotte Church, particularly her self-titled album, will adore everything about Owen.
