ARTIST OVERALL RATINGS
DESCRIPTION
Sasha Lazard appeared in 2002 with her electro-classical album The Myth of Red. Tracks from the album have appeared in TV and film, including Studio Ghibli's worldwide smash Princess Mononoke and the Andy Garcia biopic Modigliani (where fellow crossover soprano, Keedie, also featured). Lazard has a distinctive sound, combining calm new age electronica with classical. She is also exceptionally artistic - not only does she sound unique but her material is selected with a cohesive theme in mind (The Myth of Red is based on the myth of Inanna, a goddess of sexual love, fertility and war). Lazard will be admired by Sarah Brightman and Emma Shapplin fans for her creativity, but her electronica style will appeal to those that have love for Malena Ernman and Micaela Haley.
