DESCRIPTION
Identical twin brothers, Ryan and Dan Kowarsky make up the vocal duo RyanDan. They are as cheesy as their name suggests but they do make a distinctive pair in our humble classical crossover world. They are not operatic, but their vocal chords sure have endured some training (especially as you can hear one of the lads hold a note for 16 seconds on their track 'The Face'). They also have a vocal range that will crack windows. They lean towards pop, having more in common with Savage Garden (remember them?) than with Il Divo. Much of their material is original, many of which is written by the brothers; 'Tears of an Angel' was written in response to the death of their four-year-old niece who died from a brain tumour (the pair now support brain tumour related charities). Their leading singles 'Like the Sun' and 'The Face' are also originals but they have a few standards such as 'Bring Him Home' from Les Miserables and David Foster's 'The Prayer'. Fans of Savage Garden will rejoice at RyanDan, as the boys sound identical to Darren Hayes and they explore the same adult contemporary balladry. Their sophomore album, Silence Speaks was originally meant to be released in May 2010, but it keeps suffering from mysterious delays.

So very happy to see the video here and the lyrics. I hope people take the time to listen. If Ryan and Dan never create anything else, they have left a legacy with this song.

I have recommended 'Tears of an Angel" to a few people connected to the families of the 26 children and adults who died in Sandy Hook Elementary School, in Newton, Connecticut, on Dec.14th, 2012. The song Ryan and Dan about the tragic death of their 4 year old niece has so much meaning to these people. Even the word 'little one' in the song seems as if it were written for the Sandy Hook children. I thank them for having written such a profound piece of music.
