Andrea Bocelli is the best-selling crossover artist of all time and is the most widely known throughout the world. His duet with Sarah Brightman, ‘Time to Say Goodbye’, is the bestselling single of all time in Germany and Belgium, and is one of the most covered songs in classical crossover repertoire. His material varies from album to album, sometimes recording full operas, and sometimes releasing pop. Other than singing, Bocelli can play eight musical instruments. A lot of his material is original and is frequently covered by other crossover artists. Bocelli should probably not record operas as his vocal technique is lacking, though is often praised for his emotive performances and pleasant tone which are elements that are perfect for crossover.
