DESCRIPTION

Alfie Boe began his career lending his vocals for various projects and for roles on the Broadway stage. His recording career really took off in the UK when Classical FM approached and signed him as their first ever artist on their Classical FM Presents record label and the subsequent album reached number three in the classical charts. It wasn't until he signed with Decca in 2010 on the back of his role in Les Miserables that Boe's career took a turn towards super stardom.  Boe has recorded a wide variety of repertoire; he began as an opera singer but his albums became more commercial under Decca.  His latest tours have included classic rock alongside his Decca repertoire, but not much classical or opera. He possesses a voice both powerful and versatile, but most importantly, can inject genuine emotion into his performances, making him an incredible actor as he is a singer.  His first 2011 album, Bring Him Home, enjoyed huge success in the UK, hitting the top ten in the main album chart followed by an even more successful album, Alfie, debuting at number six and selling over 400,000 copies.  His previous theatre tours have been upgraded into an arena tour as Boe finds himself more and more in demand.

When I saw Les Miserables, I became an Alfie fan. I had not enjoyed his first few albums. I almost feel that his voice has improved with age. Or maybe it's the facial hair. I think he really looks great and am glad he kept it!
