DESCRIPTION
Since Andrew Lloyd Webber cast him as Raoul in The Phantom of the Opera in the mid nineties, Mario Frangoulis has been enjoying a successful and varied career. Fluent in five languages, Frangoulis records albums in multiple tongues, but mostly concentrates on Greek releases. He has, however, released three international albums under Sony Classical that consist largely of crossover material. Although he is trained in opera, he also engages with music theatre and pop. His international albums demonstrate this; from tackling Puccini adaptations to recording songs from contemporary film composer Craig Armstrong. He incorporates his classical training with his pop performances, making his music distinctly classical but widely appealing. Russell Watson fans will find him comfortably familiar.

Mario has three new concerts booked in the US. On Nov. 8th, he will in concert in San Francisco, CA 415-392-4400.
On Nov. 10th, Chicago, IL Millennium Park 312-334-7777, fantastic acoustics!
On Nov. 14th, Lincoln Center, NY 212-721-6500.

For those not on FaceBook, I am trying to keep Mario's info updated on this site as well. Anyone who has information should post it for those not on FaceBook.

If you live in northern New York state, Vermont, or Montreal, Canada you can view Mario on www.mountainlake.org. He will be in the studio being interviewed during pledge intermissions.
Dates of concert airings are: Friday 15 8:00 PM, Saturday 16 9:00 PM and 12:30 AM. Sunday 17 at 10:30 PM and Monday 18 at 4:00 PM and 9:00 PM.

Mario's concert was on my PBS station tonight. The number one reason to buy the DVD from PBS is to be able to see the entire DVD. They cut 11 songs from the album 'Beautiful Things' in order to make time for their donation drive. The entire DVD is so fantastic, it's a shame to not see it in it's entirety.

Be alert. This site is selling Mario Frangoulis' tickets at twice the price and has many complaints.

Good news for those of you living in the Pasadena, California area. Mario will be performing at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on May 11th, which happens to be Mother's Day. Tickets will be available beginning next week.

March 1th through March 15th, Mario's PBS
special will begin showing in new areas of the US, especially the midwestern and southern states. Log on to your local PBS station's website on March 1st, to see the scheduled time. If a program does not generate enough revenue to the station, it will not be repeated and the station turns it's attention in other directions of entertainment. If you have the financial ability to purchase Mario's DVD, which will probably be $85.00, do so. It will help guarantee PBS will air another of Mario's concerts in the future, this is his third. It will also help keep classical crossover music featured on PBS.
