DESCRIPTION
Jackie Evancho is just ten years old and was inspired to sing by watching Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical film adaptation The Phantom of the Opera. It is very difficult to determine the talent of one so young, but compared to others her age she has the interpretation skills that no other has come close to; her emotional delivery sets her far apart from her young contemporaries. Vocally, she's at her most impressive performing 'O Mio Babbino Caro' but demonstrates her ability to interpret and understand material best when singing 'Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again'. Her material is quite unexpected, taking on songs from a variety of genres, including Britney Spears's haunting pop ballad 'Everytime'. Jackie released her independent debut album Prelude To A Dream in November, 2009. In August 2010, Evancho won an internet poll to perform in front of the judges of America's Got Talent; she received a standing ovation and made it through to the next round, and caused a frenzy in the American media from her performance. The sudden spotlight involves people erroneously accusing her of lip-synching the performance but the vast majority of the media attention has been positive.

Christina Eve I found a website that I took a photo of Jackie Evancho and aged it to a teen and one is aged to a young adult. It is at her facebook page photos under fan photos. I hope you enjoy it. Jackie performs this Tuesday as part of the semifinals where I live in the U.S.A. It should be on YouTube shortly after that.

I'm stunned by Jackies performance on AGT.
Everytime I listen to her sing I get very emotional.
I just hope her singing style remains her own and does not get 'trained' out of her.

And you did as well when you were 10 yrs old? Seriously, we hear the deep inhalations as she works to get air in her young little lungs, but forced? No, she exhibits tremendous control and exquisite pitch. Listen again with an open mind. She is wonderful.

I hope Jackie is following her muse in what to wear and sing. She doesn't sing school-girl songs, so just what should she wear? I mean, if she sings "Memories", should she dress as an old woman, or if she sings the Britney Spears piece should she dress as a hot young thing? My thoughts are that as a performer of adult-themed pieces, she should be grated some lattitude in what she wears.
