Evancho's history on Classical-Crossover.co.uk has proven to be record breaking.  She's the only artist to clean sweep our annual awards with three wins in 2010, has placed top of our annual charts two years running and has accumulated over 150,000 votes since she was added in 2009 which is more than double amount of votes than the artist in second place.

DESCRIPTION
Jackie Evancho is just thirteen years old and was inspired to sing by watching Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical film adaptationThe Phantom of the Opera. Evancho started her career as an independent artist, entering talent competitions and releasing a self-produced album titled Prelude To A Dream (which is now a collector's item) in November, 2009. She became a household name in America after appearing on America's Got Talent in 2010. Evancho was immediately snapped up by SYCO and Columbia and shortly after the show she released a seasonal EP that shot up straight to the top of the classical charts, going platinum. Her second full length album, Dream With Me, was produced by David Foster and released in June, 2011. Evancho has the interpretation skills that no other her age (or indeed, many adults) come close to. Vocally, Evancho has become a sensation for a good reason: her mature vocals belie her years, and young or old, her voice is soothing, rich and warm. Evancho's debut album shows an interest in a wide selection of repertoire. Her seasonal offerings are typical of Christmas releases, whilst her full length albums has a great balance between the known and the unknown.

Let me state for the record: Every other artist can be compared to some other artist, whether they are better or just as good, etc. Jaqueline Marie (Jackie) Evancho is the exception. Jackie is UNIQUE. There is nobody that she can honestly be compared to, because Jackie is not just a voice, not just a pretty face and just a great talent. Oh no!! If there was ever an example of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts, Jackie is that example!! Her voice is unique, sublime. Combined with her extraordinary beauty and her special personality, Jackie is a heavenly gift to be treasured forever. Whether her career spans the better part of the century, or whether she decides to end it tomorrow, Jackie will NEVER be an ordinary person. I could go on, but I think you get the idea. I grew up listening to Julie Andrews, Karen Carpenter, and Barbera Streisand.
There was a drought (for me) for many years - Sarah Brightman came close, but not quite the same impact on my mind.
Then Jackie appeared, and all the old wonder returned!
She has the magic.

I was told by a stranger my daughter needed to see a Dentist that led to a referral for Orthodontry and My daughter was fitted with braces.Thats how far I was into knowing my Children's problems medically sometimes the closest are the last ton see and know

Wonderful job at Capitol Fourth. Big stage, big venue, big crowds. Per Barry Manilow, 119,000 in attendance at dress rehearsal previous night. Broadcast overseas. Another "feather in her cap".
