Evancho's history on Classical-Crossover.co.uk has proven to be record breaking.  She's the only artist to clean sweep our annual awards with three wins in 2010, has placed top of our annual charts two years running and has accumulated over 150,000 votes since she was added in 2009 which is more than double amount of votes than the artist in second place.

DESCRIPTION
Jackie Evancho is just twelve years old and was inspired to sing by watching Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical film adaptationThe Phantom of the Opera. Evancho started her career as an independent artist, entering talent competitions and releasing a self-produced album titled Prelude To A Dream (which is now a collector's item) in November, 2009. She became a household name in America after appearing on America's Got Talent in 2010. Evancho was immediately snapped up by SYCO and Columbia and shortly after the show she released a seasonal EP that shot up straight to the top of the classical charts, going platinum. Her second full length album, Dream With Me, was produced by David Foster and released in June, 2011. Evancho has the interpretation skills that no other her age (or indeed, many adults) come close to. Vocally, Evancho has become a sensation for a good reason: her mature vocals belie her years, and young or old, her voice is soothing, rich and warm. Evancho's debut album shows an interest in a wide selection of repertoire. Her seasonal offerings are typical of Christmas releases, whilst her full length albums has a great balance between the known and the unknown.  Evancho has a new movie themed album coming out in September which has a mixture of standards and unusual choices.

Jackie Evancho started out at the peak and has created one peak after another, for others to attain to, ever since she entered the music scene on You Tube at seven years old. Tch.. Tch. She amazed me then and she continues amaze me "every time".

She rides a dirt bike, plays AirSoft (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airsoft), does archery, has snakes for pets and enjoys zombie/vampire/ horror TV shows and movies.

I would cut her some slack before nominating her for living canonization.

Here's one more first for Jackie. Yesterday, April 20, 2013, she performed in a concert in Taiwan with the great tenor, Jose Carreras. The had only one song together, Shubert's Ave Maria. The audi is marred somewhat by the sound of rain. It was an outdoor concert.

Jackie Evancho: Songbird Of The Ages

"Ombra Mai Fu" is my absolute favorite aria to hear Jackie sing with "Se" coming in a close second. Each time I hear Jackie sing "Ombra Mai Fu" she draws me ever further into a deeper appreciation of her gift at interpretation of this classical aria and her gift of creating, all the more, an appreciation of the ambiance of Classical Crossover music.

Everyday I Marvel at this Child Prodigy, and receive her gift, as she does, gracefully....s uch a contrite spirit and Jackie Music of many uses...to comfort the sick and elderly...Music Therapy for wounded Veterans, who are thankful for her sharing her gift. Since she was nine years old, I heard her voice develop, and thought nothing of the Child, but I know now, The Child, and the Voice are created to provide life altering changes to those who are true Fans. Jackie teaches us Humility, Compassion, Honesty and enables us to receive more and more rewards for our dedication to her as an Artist, and is a symbol of all that is Pure and good...

I have listened to Jackie's magical voice since I first heard her Youtube submission to AGT and have obtained both full cd's and her Christmas cd also. I have her cd's at home and in the car to lift my spirits many times a week. Just last night I listened to the Ringling Concert for PBS again and it dawned on me why I think her talent and voice are so appealing to so many. She sings as a child could if a child had the gift of the ages to produce such a wondrous sound. Her presence and delivery and lovely soothing voice touch a real human chord in all of us. One of joy and hope and meaning for a better world to come. Angelic yes, but so truly human and comforting like a neighbor coming to our aid to make it all better in bad times. Heaven above or down to Earth, she reaches so many levels, I can not begin to imagine what great things her music and life might produce in the years to come. Jackie is certainly on to a great start and I personally wish her everything good that life gives!
